Our view of the Guadalupe Mountains on the way to the retreat

It seems like its been a while since we’ve been online. The past two weeks have been very busy with Seth traveling to Acuna and I went back to Georgia to visit family for my Nana and Papa’s 50th wedding anniversary vow renewal ceremony. It was pretty stressful, but it turned out great and beautiful. My grandparents have always shown so much love for each other their whole lives and it is evident that they truly care for each other. God definitely blessed me with amazing grandparents.

This week we have been in New Mexico on the Casas por Cristo staff retreat. I think it is very cool that they let me be a part of this. It is very much a community of believers from different walks in life, different denominations, coming together to worship the King of Kings and talk about how we can be better and do better as an organization. The first evening I was so humbled when we washed each others feet. During our devotion, we were reminded that Jesus was a servant and we are supposed to be like Jesus- keeping Him first, others second, and ourselves third. Being able to build in Juarez or Acuna, serving that family, showing Christ’s love and telling those families the incredible story of Jesus, is ultimately our job. That is such a great reminder. We had a great time getting to know each staff member and their families and I look forward to seeing how The Lord uses Seth and I in this ministry.

The pretty mountain view we had when our truck broke down

Seth and I drove the truck that pulled 5 four-wheelers and on our way back to El Paso we broke down…on the side of the road…in the middle of nowhere. The truck lost a pulley which made the belt jump off and then our truck over heated & lost radiator fluid. Because everyone got so separated, we waited for almost an hour before anyone came back to help us. The truck ended up having to be towed back to Carlsbad and we road back to El Paso with Scott (Seth’s boss). We should have gotten back home around noon to return the four-wheelers, but instead, we made it back around 2. We learned that ministry is obviously not just a 9-5 job. Thankfully everyone was pretty flexible and we got to come home and rest!

Next week, Seth will be in Acuna on another build. Ill make sure he gives an update with some more pictures like he did last time when he returns. This weekend we are just going to enjoy spending time with each other and watch the Georgia football game on ESPN! Gooooo Dawgs!
