After 4 weeks and 80 hours of language school I was able to end my time in Guatemala by doing a build with one of the most amazing groups of people I have ever had the chance to be around. I had the privilege to build with the Travis Manion Foundation. We built a home for a family in the hillsides of San Raimundo, Guatemala.
The Travis Manion Foundation exists to help those who have lost loved ones in our nations most recent wars. It was an honor to be able to build along side those who have given so much in the sacrifice of their loved ones so that you and I can be free. Each one of the families that was on this build had lost so much and yet they made the choice to give something of themselves to a family they had never met before. These are some of the finest people on the planet and I cannot say enough good things about them.
It was awesome to be a part of this build because we had two different organizations coming together, each one of our groups has a different purpose but we came together on this project. The build went pretty smoothly and the family we built for were great people. It was such a blessing to learn that the family already knew who God was and they all had relationships with Him. Everyone on the team was able to spend time loving on the family and sharing with them about the reasons that they had come so far to do this amazing work. I loved being able to be with these amazing people and I am honored to have been a part of doing something in honor of their loved ones who gave the ultimate sacrifice so that I can be free.
