Today Seth and I woke up in Dahlonega, GA and we will go to sleep here in Antigua, Guatemala. We will be here for a month studying Spanish at a language school. For the next 4 weeks, we are staying with a host family. We are completely immersed in the Guatemalan culture which means we HAVE to learn Spanish! We are very excited about this opportunity and cannot thank those of you enough who have given graciously to let this happen for us.
We do have a couple prayer requests. I have a cold and Seth has a swollen eye. He is pretty miserable, but we have medicine that should hold us over and a God who can heal! Traveling today was fine. We woke up around 3 am to catch our flight, so we didn’t get much sleep. Once we arrived in Antigua, we went to Domino’s for lunch and then napped the whole afternoon. We were exhausted.
We begin our Spanish classes in the morning. We study daily from 8am-12pm. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner is provided in our host homes. I met Carolina, Adolfo, and Luis Ordonez who will be taking care of us while we are here. They seem very friendly. I got to practice some of my Spanish and I think I did pretty well. Can’t wait to see how The Lord uses us while we study.
We have wifi in our host home and at the school, so I will post updates and pictures often! Thanks for your prayers and love!
