Hey there! Let me tell you what’s been going on the last couple weeks here in the ‘ole El Paso. Seth sent out our first newsletters this week, so you should be getting one very soon. They turned out GREAT and they have some really good stories and updates on us. We are so excited to be going home for Thanksgiving in 3 weeks! We are getting to spend time with both of our families and then the week after, we are recruiting college students to come intern with Casas por Cristo next summer. We are going to The University of North Georgia, Truett-McConnell College, Young Harris College, and ‘The Vine’ College Ministry at North Metro First Baptist Church.

I’ve been keeping myself busy making Christmas wreaths. I would love to make you one! I am making them to order and selling them for $30 if anyone is interested.

On December 14, Seth and I are going to Los Angeles, California and I am going to be auditioning for the singing competition and television show on NBC, “The Voice.” I figured why not try since I have the opportunity. I auditioned for “American Idol” twice when I was 16, and I was so serious about it and when I didn’t get through, I was so upset. But, this time, I am not going to get my hopes up if “The Voice” doesn’t like me either. I know that The Lord has plans for me that I can’t even begin to fathom, so I don’t need to waste my time getting upset if I audition with millions of other people aiming for the same thing. BUT I figured I might as well do my part, audition, and trust The Lord for the rest.

Seth and I also have a pretty awesome opportunity to go to language school in the spring. We truly want to be able to be effective in this ministry with Casas por Cristo. We’ve been on three builds together and we have seen how it is possible to just “get by” without speaking spanish, but we want to be able to go beyond the basics. So pray for us. Pray that God would open our minds to understand the language and learn it quickly. The language school is in Guatemala. So, with that being said, it is going to be expensive. If you feel led to help us out with the cost, please don’t hesitate to contact us and we will let you know how to do that.

I have personally been going through an amazing bible study titled “Stronger, Finding Hope in Fragile Places” by Angela Thomas. And let me tell you…I have loved it. I have been reminded that ultimately God is stronger than everything we will go through or have already gone through. He loves us so much. He is stronger than our fears, He is stronger than our brokenness, He is always there. It’s just been such a blessing to have been reminded of God’s goodness. Sometimes we take things for granted and I was so thankful to be reminded that God loves me. He loves me so much! And He loves you too! I encourage you, if you need a new study, check out “Stronger.” I have no doubt it will bless you too. I finished going through that study yesterday, so today, I started going through the book of Esther. 🙂

I know this time, I was a little scatter brained and just quickly listed what’s going on, but I knew that I needed to send an update! I hope you all have a blessed weekend!!
